I’ve tried to rationalize it, to tell myself I was young, I was scared, I didn't know better. Those are just excuses, thin veils over a truth that burns. I knew. Deep down, I always knew the line I was crossing.
And now, here I am, still walking a fractured landscape. But it’s not just my own pain I see. It’s the phantom limb of someone else's trust, severed by my hand. The weight of that absence is a constant pressure.
I tell myself I want to make amends, to seek redemption. But how do you ask for a forgiveness you know, in your heart, hasn't been earned? How do you look someone in the eye, knowing the depth of the wound you inflicted?
